Low clouds

The weather man said we have 70% chance of rain today and it looks as though we're on track. That reminds me, it's time to pick up a copy of the 2009 Farmers' Almanac! Obviously a few habits die hard when you move from the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee to the coast.

You can check out Farmers' Almanac regional outlooks for January by clicking HERE.

Beautiful, DJ. Glad you're back from Tennessee to show us more beauty on the beach. By the way, did you get your new camera? I'm about ready to go all Amazon on a Canon EOS 50D.

That's awesome, girl! Can't wait to see some of your photos. Be sure to alert me when you've got it.

I did talk my husband into springing for a Canon 40D and I've fallen in love with it. :-)

I'm being very protective of the new camera, but hopefully I'll have an extra line of defense from the harsh beach conditions with the 40D auto sensor cleaner and its enclosed battery & disk compartments.

I also received a small camcorder and will start experimenting with that once the wind dies down. I tried briefly yesterday, but the wind was rather stout and the pelican I was shooting looked like he was doing the shimmy-shake.

Take care and have a Happy New Year.

Hello, DJ. I was directed to your blog by PJ. The day that you took these pictures we went to the beach anyway, left late in the morning, and by the time we got to the beach, the weather had turned beautiful. Rough waves but pleasant otherwise. That was the day we found the man o'war on the beach near the Fort Pickens barricade. I posted about them here:

It's so good to be back in the area, and I'm glad to have found some local bloggers. I see that you like literature and use excerpts in your blog. It's kind of what ties my thoughts together (but at the same time expands them) in my posts. Nice to meet you!
