Fins!

I captured a short video clip of this fella feeding on bait fish while patrolling at Ft. Pickens this morning. Perhaps someone can identify the type of shark by the dorsal fin and give us a length estimate.

Can't you feel 'em circlin' honey?
Can't you feel 'em swimmin' around?
You got fins to the left, fins to the right,
and you're the only bait in town.

Wow -this is amazing. Looks like the shark was in very shallow water.

Yes, it was in shallow water. It was parallel to the shore -- actually scooting back and forth over a sandbar. A school of bait fish were dancing just below the surface next to the sandbar.

My mom is Sandi Johnson and she sends me your articles from time to time. I'm a part time shark enthusiast (I was going for my degree in biology till I had my son which switched me to the medical field) But from what I can tell it looks like a black tip shark. I can see the dorsal fin has a black tip, hence the name haha :)

They can usually get up to around 5 ft. That one looks like an adult around 4/4.5 feet :)
