The new fire station on Pensacola Beach had their ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning.
All the trucks were on display.
Jet skis and two four-wheel drive trucks are ready for beach rescue.
A beautiful new station to replace the one destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in September 2004.
A 7,200 square foot building, built to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.
Containing some 2,000 cubic yards of concrete.
A workout room for the firemen.
Command central.
Room to relax and watch a widescreen television between calls.
Coffee bar and small extra dining area.
The kitchen and seating area.
One of the individual bedrooms with computer access.
Directly across the street is the Pensacola Beach Elementary School, which was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education in 2007.
