I captured a photo of this unusual bird over the Gulf on my morning walk. Hopefully one of my blog viewers can help me identify him.
[Note: I love my blog viewers! One I can always count on is Anne M. She consistently -- and swiftly -- provides me identification on wildflowers and birds. In this case, the bird shown above is a Black Skimmer. I had heard of them, but never seen one for myself until now.
