I was surprised to find this beautiful Spurred Butterfly Pea during one of my walks this week. It wasn't until September last year that I first saw them blooming around Range Point.
One of my faithful blog viewers, Anne M., helped me identify it last year and also sent me a link to a lovely watercolor of the Butterfly Pea in "Flora of Louisiana: Watercolor Drawings by Margaret Stones with Botanical Descriptions by Lowell Urbatsch".
