Beach flags

These purple and yellow flags are not a big shout-out to our Louisiana visitors, just a notice to be cautious of the surf today and that there is "dangerous marine life" in the water.

Since there is always dangerous marine life in the water, the purple flag generally means the appearance of jellyfish in the Gulf.

Always be aware of which flags are flying along Pensacola Beach and be familiar with their meaning.
