Thanks, Amy, I'm glad you enjoy my blog. They surely can get scruffy, especially when molting. Sometimes I see them sitting atop a roof and they look like little old butlers out of '50's movies, hunched shoulders, half their height. Then they stretch up and fly away with such elegance. Ha!
All photo's are great (as usual) - but I agree with Amy; that last is my favorite. The blue chair really seems to bring out the blue color of the bird! Gorgeous!
My name is D.J. A few years ago I moved to one of the most beautiful places in the world--Pensacola Beach, Florida. I love exploring the beach, documenting its changes with my photos, volunteering to help our sea turtles, attending concerts on the beach in the summer, and participating in many of the events we have throughout the year. I also enjoy sharing my photographs with you so that you can appreciate the beauty of our very special island.

I absolutely love your blog! The sun never shines in Cleveland ;)
The Great Blue Heron is my favorite bird. Sort of scraggly, but so beautiful in flight. I would buy that last photo of him walking away!

Great story... great photos... I liked the 2nd one the most...
Yes, that's quite an image of him stalking. Pardon the comparison, but he reminds me of a cat creeping up on prey. ;-)
yeah... that's some posture....
Wonderful series...Great Blue Herons are fantastic - such elegance and grace and you captured that in your photos...
Thank you!
