This is a clear example of reckless behavior. Red flags are flying and signs are posted to stay out of the surf today, yet people choose to disregard the warnings. Even worse, their actions put our young lifeguards at risk. It's very upsetting.

this always made me SO angry! i only lifeguarded at pools in pensacola, but my sister worked the beaches. i can't tell you how many "stupid people" stories she had. if only people realized just how powerful the ocean is! i know i wouldn't be strong enough to go out and get somebody in surf like that if they got carried out. very upsetting, indeed.
I know our lifeguards are there to help people,and they do a maganificent job, but in this case "swim at your own risk" takes on new meaning. I'd hate to see a lifeguard put in danger because of these two bozos.
