Persistence

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

~~ Calvin Coolidge

Welcome home DJ. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and hope the power of your faith and beauty of the beach help to console you.

I've been sailing with the family in Panama for the past 2 months and even though I enjoyed my travels (South Africa included) have sorely missed our lovely home. Not this blast of winter, mind you, just the tranquility and beauty of the beach this time of year. Again welcome back, hope to catch you taking pictures some time soon! Karen

DJ -

I really feel guilty that I haven't been there, personally, for you as much as I would have liked to have been. I do offer my apologies for not driving down to McMinnville for the services, but because of, I guess, my age, I am just not as confident to take out across the country on my own. I remember the days when I would drive almost non-stop from Indiana/Illinois to California in a MGA in the 1950's & 1960's. Not any more and maybe that's good...think of all the scary things I could do behind the Jaguar!

But, this isn't about me, it's about the comfort I hope you find in the days ahead by the rememberance of the good memories you shared with your Dad. He was a precious man in your life and, even metaphysically, he still is! I'm always here for you, DJ, and I feel blessed to read your Blog and see your glorious photography.

Thank you & God Bless!
