A heron is silhouetted in the sunrise at the western tip of the island. If you click to enlarge the photo you can see Bob Sikes bridge in the distance which spans Santa Rosa Sound.
Ha! You saw it! I wondered if anyone would. It actually isn't a heron chick but a fairly large (but juvenile) heron. The heron in silhouette is standing atop small dune, but the one that looks like a chick hiding below is standing farther away and in a lower spot on the beach. There were about six of them spread out around the point this morning.
